SRH Crushed by GT; Point of No Return?

This season of the IPL is turning out to be every bit as thrilling from an all-round perspective. Today’s GT vs SRH game was no different, as the Titans, led by Shubman Gill, completely decimated the Sunrisers on their own turf in Hyderabad.

The Pat Cummins-led side has been dealt their fourth consecutive defeat at the hands of the Titans, with special thanks to local boy Mohammed Siraj’s ‘Miyan Magical’ spell, taking 4 wickets while conceding just 17 runs.

Social media was quick to jokingly brand Siraj a “backstabber,” as despite being from Hyderabad, he became the chief architect of SRH’s downfall today.

The SRH batting innings collapsed quickly, with Nitish Reddy becoming their highest scorer, putting 31 runs on the board in 34 balls, leading to a subpar total of 152 for GT to chase.

And what a chase it was! While the side faced early losses in the form of Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, a massive 110-run partnership between Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar made GT’s victory nothing but a mere formality.

GT managed to easily chase the target in just 16.4 overs, humiliating Sunrisers Hyderabad in front of their home crowd.

This defeat has left the Sunrisers at the bottom of the points table, now making it very hard for them to bounce back.

It will be interesting to see whether Captain Cummins’ team can turn things around, or if their streak of defeats becomes even longer to pass the point of no return.
