CP Anand urges organizers to refrain from using DJ during Hanuman Jayanti yatra

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand here on Wednesday appealed to organizers to refrain from using the DJ system during Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya yatra on April 12.

Anand, who chaired a coordination meeting with officials from various government departments and yatra organizers to review arrangements on the occasion of Sri Hanuman Jayanti, at Osmania Medical College Auditorium in Koti, emphasized the importance of conducting the yatra in a peaceful atmosphere.

He urged the organizers to be vigilant about any new individuals joining the procession and to promptly inform the local police as a precautionary measure. He requested their cooperation with the traffic police to avoid any traffic congestion during the yatra.

Specific guidelines were provided to organizers regarding the height of the idols, advising them to ensure that no idol exceeds the height of the railway bridge to avoid route diversions. He appealed to organizers to refrain from using DJ systems during the procession, highlighting the benefits of minimizing noise pollution for health and well-being of the public and devotees, suggesting the use of large sound boxes without sound mixers instead.

Considering the weather forecast from the Meteorological department indicating potential rainfall on Saturday, Anand instructed the GHMC and the traffic police to take necessary precautionary measures. He also directed the relevant police authorities to be informed about the number of people and vehicles participating in the procession.

He advised organizers to provide adequate training to their rope party members and to utilize their services effectively, suggesting the deployment of a greater number of volunteers. He assured that adhering to the specified route would ensure a smooth procession.

The organizers were asked to verify the suitability of tusker vehicles for navigating through narrow streets in advance. Drawing upon past experiences, Anand stressed the need for restraint during the return journey after the yatra concludes.

He also clarified that the use of drone cameras was prohibited without prior authorization from the police department. Providing an overview of the scale of the event, he informed that approximately 150 Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatras were scheduled within the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits, with an additional 46 yatras originating from the Cyberabad and Rachakonda limits, all of which will converge into the main procession.

He cautioned against believing or spreading rumors and provocative or fake messages on social media. He announced the deployment of 17,000 police personnel along with additional armed forces by the Hyderabad City Police for the yatra.

A joint control room will be established at the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner’s Office, ICCC Building, Banjara Hills, commencing operations from 8 am on April 12. This control room will serve as a central point where officers from various departments will be available to provide appropriate advice and assistance in case of any issues.

Following the meeting, Anand accompanied by officers and organizers from various departments, conducted an inspection of the main procession route, commencing from Sri Rama Mandir, Gowliguda, and proceeding through Narayanaguda, RTC crossroads, Ashok Nagar, Kavadiguda, Bible House, culminating at Sri Hanuman Temple in Tadbund, covering a distance of approximately 12.2 km.

All the officers concerned were instructed to expedite the resolution of any issues identified during the route inspection and to address any pending work within their respective departments.
