Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) commissioner, A.V. Ranganath has inspected the graveyard near Machha Bolarum area of Alwal mandal on Tuesday (April 8, 2025), to check for the alleged encroachments by the solid waste concessionaire firm.

HYDRAA had received complaints from Machha Bolarum Residents Welfare Associations Joint Action Committee that the graveyard was encroached in to by the Resustainability Limited (formerly Ramky Environ Engineers Limited) which managed a transfer station in the vicinity. The same complaint was aired by Member of Parliament Eatala Rajender, MLA Rajashekhar Reddy and and former legislator Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao too, after which Minister D. Sridhar Babu issued instructions to the GHMC Commissioner K. Ilambarithi and Mr. Ranganath to take up an inspection.

Mr. Ranganath observed that while the firm was allotted two acres of land to house the transfer station, it had occupied about five acres of land, and even taken up construction on the said land.

The graveyard was allotted over 15 acres of land, into which the garbage from the transfer station was spiling over. Besides, structures were raised without permission at the location.

Mr. Ranganath has issued instructions to the concessionaire to halt the construction immediately, and assured the local residents that he would take their objections about the transfer station to the government’s notice.
