Andhra woman gets ‘bizzare’ delivery — a dead body | Hyderabad News

A dead body with the face disfigured was allegedly delivered through a parcel to a woman’s under construction house in Undi in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh Thursday. The body was wrapped in plastic sheets and kept inside a wooden crate along with electrical wires and other electrical equipment that the woman, R Tulasi, had asked for from a donor to be used in her under construction house in Yendagandi village in Undi Mandal.

Officials from Undi Police Station have recovered the body and have sent it for post-mortem at the Bhimavaram Government Hospital.

“The woman, R Tulasi, had been alloted a plot by the government and she recently started constructing a house on it. She had sought donations in the form of construction material, tiles, electricals etc from various organisations to help her finish the construction,”Undi Police Station in-charge Inspector M Nazirullah said.

“The second parcel contained tiles. Two days ago she (Tulasi) received a call from someone saying they are sending a parcel, a big wooden crate that was delivered Thursday and she had it kept at the plot. However, as a bad smell was emanating, workers opened it and found the body, beside the electricals. We are investigating who called her and sent the parcel,” the officer said, adding that the woman lived alone after her husband disappeared eleven years ago. Police are also questioning the woman and her relatives.

“The body could not be identified as the face has been disfigured,” the officer said.
