In the 24th game of Indian Premier League, Delhi Capitals won against Royal Challengers Bangalore. DC won the game by 6 wickets.
Toss:
DC won the toss and decided to bowl first.
First Innings:
RCB had the golden Chance to put a huge score on the cards. DC invited RCB to bat first. Salt and Kohli entered the field as openers. In 3 overs, team RCB managed to score 50 runs for no loss. But, Salt’s runout created enough damage. It was Kohli’s mistake for calling Salt for run and going back. After Salt’s departure, no other batsman managed to score big. Hence, the small cameos all together pushed the score to 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Tim David’s Big shots in the end, pushed RCB to score 163 runs. In DC, Axar Patel proved to be expensive but the rest of the bowlers made an impact.
Second Innings:
In the second innings, Delhi Capitals batsmen easily chased down the total. The pressure was clearly on the RCB bowlers. Despite the key DC batsmen Faf Du Plessis, McGurk, and Abhishek Porel failed, KL Rahul scored a 93 runs and took the team to victory. Stubbs’ cameo of 38 runs also helped the team. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Hazelwood, Krunal and Livingstone failed to restrict the DC batsmen.
In a nutshell:
Delhi Capitals is continuing as the only team without any loss so far. They successfully proved their mettle in all the departments. Despite this loss, RCB is still in the third place and they have fair chances. The team need to manage the pressure and bring their bowlers to form. Altogether, it was a good game and the one that played well won.
