Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi is the latest Telugu Release Featuring Pradeep Machiraju Hitting the Big Screens Today, Let’s See How This Rural Comedy Drama Fares.
Story:
Krishna (Pradeep Machiraju), a civil engineer from Hyderabad, believes in one strange principle – never help anyone. He is sent to Bhairi Lanka village to construct bathrooms, but the villagers refuse him entry simply because he’s an outsider. The village has one peculiar rule: no outsider can talk to and see Raja (Deepika Pilli), the only girl in the village because every man there wants to marry her. Krishna is permitted to stay only if he agrees to avoid her completely. Everything goes smoothly until villagers learn about the relationship between Krishna and Raja. Do they know each other already? Why is Raja the only woman in the village? What’s behind the village’s strange customs? Why all the men in the village want to marry Raja? The rest of the film unravels these mysteries.
Plus Points:
The story is simple but narrated with humour and charm, especially in the first half. Satya steals the show with his spot-on comedic timing, and Getup Srinu complements him brilliantly as the innocent villager. Their chemistry brings a consistent stream of laughs. Scenes of the bathroom construction and nostalgic song medleys work out well.
Pradeep Machiraju puts in a decent performance, handling both light humour well. Deepika Pilli makes a confident debut and shares a pleasant on-screen rapport with Pradeep.
Supporting actors like Peekay and Vennela Kishore serve their purpose, while Brahmanandam gets a few laughs in a limited role.
Minus Points:
The second half doesn’t quite match the energy or impact of the first. The narrative slows down, and the plot begins to feel stretched with scenes that don’t add much value. The climax lacks conviction and emotional depth.
Comedy dips in the latter half, and some sequences feel disconnected. Vennela Kishore’s role is underwritten, and even seasoned actors like Brahmanandam and John Vijay are underutilised. A few jokes fall flat, though some manage to click.
Technical Aspects:
Debutant directors Nitin and Bharath manage to create a fun, clean entertainer with a promising start. However, a better focus on the screenplay in the second half would’ve elevated the film.
Radhan delivers a lively and situationally fitting soundtrack. MN Balreddy’s cinematography captures the village atmosphere well. Editing by Kodati Pawan Kalyan could have been tighter, especially to trim down the sluggish parts in the latter half. Production values are adequate and suit the tone of the film.
Verdict:
On the whole, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi is a mildly entertaining film that works in parts. While the comedy – especially from Satya and Getup Srinu – lands nicely in the first half, the second half falters with uneven pacing and a weak climax. Pradeep Machiraju does his job well, and Deepika is decent, but underutilised supporting roles limit the impact. If you enjoy rural humour and light drama, this might offer an okay watch – just keep your expectations modest.
