In a move to transform Guntur into a clean and healthy city, the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) donated 50 pushcarts to the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Friday (April 11). The carts were handed over to sanitation workers in the presence of GMC Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu, MLAs Nazeer Ahmad, Burla Ramanjaneyulu and Galla Madhavi, and TMB General Manager Ashok Kumar.

Acting Mayor Shaik Sajila called upon local citizens and business establishments to actively partner in the city’s cleanliness mission. “Inspired by the Chief Minister’s vision, we are determined to achieve 100% door-to-door garbage collection and eliminate garbage points across Guntur with public support,” she said.

Commissioner Srinivasulu extended special thanks to TMB for their prompt response to the city’s request for sanitation equipment. He noted that such contributions under the Swarnandhra-Swachhandhra initiative would accelerate cleanliness efforts.

MLAs praised the involvement of private institutions like TMB in strengthening civic infrastructure and said the Chief Minister’s P-4 model ensures inclusive development. TMB GM Ashok Kumar expressed happiness in supporting GMC’s public health wing and assured continued cooperation in future.

Senior officials, corporators, and health department staff also participated in the event.
