Haj panel asks pilgrims to take vaccines before trip


Hyderabad: departure of the first chartered flight from Hyderabad for the Haj is scheduled for April 29, Telangana Haj Committee chairman Syed Gulam Afzal Biabani said. He asked selected pilgrims to take the meningitis vaccine, seasonal influenza, oral polio vaccine at least 10 days before scheduled departure, as these were mandatory.

The committee would conduct a vaccination camp at government hospitals for Pilgrims of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts from April 21. To facilitate the process a seven nodal officers appointed to coordinate with government hospitals.

The drive will be conducted till April 26 in the government hospitals at Nampally, Golconda, Malakpet, Khairtabad, King Koti, Ameerpet and Barkas. Sajjad Ali, committee executive officer, each centre will vaccinate 857 pilgrims daily.

A training camp is scheduled for Sunday at Sahifa Mosque, Azampura, from 10 am to 4 pm and on Monday for women only at Darul Aman Function hall from 10 am to 1 pm.
