Andhra Pradesh minister Lokesh lays foundation for 100-bed hospital in Mangalagiri

Vijayawada: HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh reiterated on Sunday that he will realise the goal of transforming Mangalagiri assembly segment as a model constituency in the state within no time. “At the very second cabinet meeting after the TDP-led NDA came to power, I got a 100-bed hospital sanctioned,” he said. Lokesh laid the foundation for the hospital on Sunday. He asserted that the hospital will be completed within 365 days and will be dedicated to the people of Mangalagiri.
Addressing the meeting after laying the foundation, Lokesh said that he distributed house-sites to 354 persons during the Mana Illu-Mana Lokesh initiative at Yerrabalem. He got the GO for grant of house-sites to the poor who constructed the houses in unobjectionable govt lands in a record time of 90 days.
“My goal is to keep Mangalagiri on top in every aspect, including the construction of most-advanced 100-bed hospital. The TDP-led NDA govt is ready to take up anything good for people and I, as your MLA, will always stand by you all,” Lokesh asserted.
Promising people that underground drainage, drinking water and power projects will be launched in June, IT minister said that the construction of 17 community halls would also be completed at the earliest. “We will complete the construction of community halls in the next 18 months. You all know the poor condition of roads during the previous govt and all the roads have now been repaired. The four-lane road between Mangalagiri and Tenali has been taken up,” Lokesh said.
Recalling the long-time demand for a retaining wall in Mangalagiri, Lokesh promised to take up the construction of the wall at a cost of Rs 300 crore. Lokesh completed the first phase of house sites distribution in the last five days where he handed over pattas to about 3,005 families in the constituency. House-sites were granted to about 729 families in Ratnala Cheruvu, Mahanadu-1 473, Mahanadu-2 colony- 441, Yarrabalem – 274, Kolanukonda – 235, Penumaka – 185 people, Padmasali Bazaar – 137, Drivers Colony – 119, Neerukonda – 99, Salam Center – 92, Undavalli 82, Undavalli Center – 85, Sitanagaram – 48, Ippatam – 10 people.
