Hyderabad: In a heartfelt yet high-spirited celebration of inclusivity, Walk A Wave 2.0 attempted to build belonging step by step with over 3000 participants at Gachibowli Stadium on Sunday morning, standing in solidarity for autism awareness, acceptance, and true inclusion.
The event, organised by Marham – Resonating Resilience, received an overwhelming response from families, professionals, educators, influencers, and changemakers across the city.
The event was graced by actress Payal Radhakrishna, Padma Shri Dr. Manjula Anagani, Dr. Pratibha president TSMC, Dr. Minhaj, Dr. Lokesh, RJ Shadab who contributed their presence and voices to the cause.
The morning was filled with joyful and inclusive activities, including a highenergy DanceHIIT session led by Vijaya Tupurani, delightful storytelling by Sudha Ramani, and a captivating puppet show by Rohini Jayanthi. A vibrant carnival, games, and creative stalls welcomed families and created an atmosphere of celebration and connection.
From mainstream to neurodiverse, schools across the city showed remarkable strength and solidarity, pivotal in making Walk A Wave 2.0 one of Hyderabad’s most memorable inclusion movements.
Prerna Reddy, Director of Talk and Learn, shared, “Autistic individuals use unique ways to express themselves. It is up to us to understand them.”
Dr. Nithya, a Child Psychiatrist, added, “Don’t give up on them so easily. They can do wonderful things if supported with love and kindness.”
Dr. Nabat Lakhani, founder of Marham, said, “Most parents sleep easy knowing their kids will have friends, family, and support long after they’re gone. But for parents of children with autism, that peace doesn’t come easy. It’s high time society steps in—not out of sympathy, but to make sure every neurodiverse individual knows: you belong here too.”
Walk A Wave 2.0 was a powerful reminder that when we come together as a community, we can create a world where every individual is seen, understood, and celebrated — just as they are.
