The IndyCar Series season continues on the streets of Long Beach, California, encircling the city’s convention center.

Kyle Kirkwood won pole position for today’s 90-lap race on the 11-turn, 1.968-mile circuit will include 200 seconds of push-to-pass, enabled in 20-second increments. The race had been 85 laps in previous years.

IndyCar at Long Beach expert picks, predictions

From Nathan Brown, IndyStar

Race winner: It’s admittedly boring to pick Alex Palouwho has won the first two races of the year and is a two-time defending series champ. But in four starts at Long Beach, Palou has never finished outside the top-5 and has logged two podiums. Combined with his recent form, it’s hard to imagine someone else taking the checkered flag.

Something you might not expect: Prema logs its first top-10 in IndyCar via Callum Ilottwho just misses advancing into the Fast 12 but manages a clean race and makes his way through the field to finish 10th.
