Kishan cleans Ambedkar statues in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: In a major Dalit outreach, BJP Telangana president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy involved himself in the cleaning of statues of Dr Ambedkar at several places in the city, ahead of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Indian Constitution.

Kishan Reddy said that the Narendra Modi government had rededicated to fulfill the ideals of great Mahatma and appealed people to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar on April 14 as a major festival.

Kishan Reddy said that the Centre has installed a portrait of Dr Ambedkar in the Central Hall of Parliament. The government had developed five places associated with Ambedkar as `Panch Teerth’ to promote tourism

The BJP has given a call to party workers to involve themselves in cleaning of Ambedkar statues all over the country and educate the masses by conducting workshops on his works. In contrast, the Congress leader Jawaharlal Nehru had tried to defeat Dr Ambedkar in the general elections. The Congress also denied him Bharat Ratna.

Though his contribution as a social reformer is huge in this country, the Congress party has not given the respect he deserves, Kishan Reddy said.
