Farmers’ Welfare Commission Chairman M. Kodanda Reddy at Rythu Mahotsavam At Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Sunday.

Telangana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Commission chairman M. Kodanda Reddy urged ryots to prioritise horticulture crops over commercial ones.
However, he emphasised the importance of soil testing before cultivation. While interacting with farmers at Rythu Mahotsavam at Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Sunday, Mr. Reddy inquired about their crops, weather conditions, and government’s performance.
He highlighted the government’s pro-farmer stance, mentioning initiatives like ₹2 lakh crop loan waiver and ₹500 bonus on fine variety paddy per quintal. Mr. Reddy also stressed on the need to reduce the usage of chemical fertilizers, adopt organic farming methods, and mechanise agriculture.
“Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government is giving high priority to farmers’ welfare ever since it came to power. The Rythu Mahotsavam saw significant participation from farmers across the State and the local community,” he said.
The farmers’ fest showcased farmer-driven innovations in over 180 stalls, open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is being organised by the Agri-Horticultural Society with the support of the government.
