Japanese honour for AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr Nageshwar Reddy-Telangana Today

Hyderabad: Japanese honour for AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr Nageshwar Reddy


Hyderabad: Founder chairman of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) Hospitals, Dr D Nageshwar Reddy has become the first Indian gastroenterologist to receive the prestigious international honour ‘Legends of Endoscopy’ award from Japanese Gastroenterologists.

The recognition acknowledges was presented in acknowledgment of Dr Nageshwar Reddy’s outstanding lifetime contribution to the advancement of Gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy.


The award was conferred by Dr Haruhiro Inoue, Professor and Chairman, Digestive Diseases Center, Showa University Koto Toyosu Hospital, Tokyo, in the presence senior gastroenterologists from Japan.

The felicitation took place during the Tokyo Live Global Endoscopy 2025 event, hosted at SHOWA Medical University Koto Toyosu Hospital, Tokyo, where Dr Reddy also performed live demonstration of complex endoscopic procedures.

Dr Haruhiro Inoue said, “Dr Nageshwar Reddy has truly evolutionized endoscopic practice globally. His innovations, especially the Nagi stent, have saved countless lives and brought relief to patients in the most challenging clinical scenarios.

On the occasion, Dr D Nageshwar Reddy stated, “This award is more than a personal milestone and stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit of endoscopists worldwide”.
