Visakhapatnam:A nine-months pregnant woman was strangled to death by her husband in Madhurawada locality under PM Palem Police Station limits, Visakhapatnam, on Monday morning.
The deceased Anusha (27) is a native of Adduroad in Anakapalli district and the accused Gnaneshwar (28) is a resident of Duvvada locality in Vizag city. They married two years ago after a period of courtship. Anusha’s parents were against the union.
The couple ran a fast-food stall in the city. Relatives of Anusha said she was supposed to give birth in a few days.
According to reports, Gnaneshwar on Monday morning telephoned the family members and friends of Anusha and told them that she had fallen unconscious. She was rushed to a hospital by her relatives and was pronounced dead.
Suspecting that Gnaneshwar murdered Anusha, the family members went to the police. During interrogation, Gnaneshwar confessed to the murder saying he had a fight with her.
PM Palem police have registered a case against Gnaneshwar and investigation is ongoing. The body was transferred to KG Hospital for post-mortem.
