The Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme towards self-employment of the youth in the State, has received more than 1.3 lakh applications from Hyderabad district by April 14, the deadline for applications.
Most of the applications are online, while only a fraction were physical applications, as per information obtained through sources. A total 1.04,556 applications were received online, while 26,992 were received on paper.
Predominantly higher number of applications, at 67,321, were received through the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation, while BC/EBC Finance Corporations have received a total 34,719 applications. A total 26,260 applications were submitted through SC Finance Corporation, and only 3,248 applications were through ST Finance Corporation.
More than a third of the applications were submitted from just three mandals – Asifnagar, Bandlaguda and Bahadurpura. Considerable number of applicants were from Saidabad, Khairatabad, Charminar and Nampally, official data says.
Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme seeks to offer financial support of up to ₹4 lakh to youth from underprivileged sections, with components of subsidy and bank loan. The government is expecting to extend the assistance to 5 lakh youth through the scheme. Mandal-level and district-level screening committees will select the beneficiaries based on district-wise targets, while the District Collector is authorised to issue the final sanctions after approval from the minister in-charge of the district.
