Uttam Rubbishes Realty Slowdown

Hyderabad: Irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to the real estate sector, assuring full support to builders at the first annual general body meeting of the Cyberabad Builders Association (CBA). He said the reports of a slowdown in construction activity were blown out of proportion and the Congress government would ensure a real estate boom in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

“We are meeting at a crucial time. Many of you are anxious about the future. Let me assure you categorically that the present Congress government in Telangana is completely committed to supporting building and construction activity not only in Hyderabad and Cyberabad but across the entire state,” he told the meeting.

He promised that the government would proactively intervene to resolve any issues faced by builders — be it with government agencies or any other authorities — to ensure smooth operations and exponential business growth. “We want every builder to benefit from the growth of Hyderabad and particularly the Cyberabad region,” he added.

Highlighting the legacy of the earlier Congress governments, he noted that most of the globally-recognised infrastructure in Hyderabad — such as the Shamshabad airport, the ORR, the PVNR Expressway, the Metro Rail, and major projects bringing drinking water from the Krishna and Godavari rivers — were all executed during Congress rule. “This is world standard infrastructure, and it is what made Hyderabad one of the fastest-growing cities not just in India, but in the world,” he said.

Reiterating that Hyderabad enjoyed a moderate climate, cosmopolitan culture and a business-friendly environment, Uttam Kumar Reddy assured the builders that the Congress government would continue to protect this ecosystem. “Whether it is about law and order, social harmony, or policy support — we stand with you in making Hyderabad and Cyberabad grow even faster,” he said.
