Louisville football’s Jeff Brohm talks quarterback strategy

Stefan LeFors, a former Louisville football quarterback and Christian Academy head football coach, was named Gallaudet University’s head football coach Monday.
Gallaudet is a privately chartered university for the deaf and hard of hearing in Washington, D.C. LeFors, who is a Child of Deaf Adults, has many familial connections to the university. His brother, Eric, was on the Bison’s football team (1996-99), his mother, Susan Carter LeFors, was on the volleyball team (1977-78), his uncle, Nick LeFors Jr., played men’s basketball and golf (1973-75) and his wife, June Ann DeLaune, graduated from Gallaudet in 2001.
“I’m incredibly humbled and excited for this next chapter and grateful for the opportunity to grow, learn, and take on new challenges at Gallaudet University,” LeFors said in a news release. “My passion is developing young people and sharing the knowledge I’ve learned from all the wonderful places I’ve been both as a player and coach. I look forward to building positive relationships with the players, staff and administration.”
LeFors spent the previous six years as Parkview Baptist (Louisiana) School’s head football coach. The Eagles went 47-24 with six state playoff appearances.
After a standout quarterbacking career at Louisville, LeFors was a fourth-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft before playing in the Canadian Football League for three years (2007-09). He got his coaching start as a football intern at Providence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2006. The former quarterback returned to Louisville in 2010 as an academic specialist before becoming CAL’s head football coach a year later.
LeFors was named the district Coach of the Year five times and 2016 AP State Coach of the Year in Kentucky while winning two Class 2A state championships (2016, 2018) and seven district championships for an 86-20 record with the Centurions. In 2019, he moved back to his hometown to continue coaching football and will now get his first taste of being a head football coach at the collegiate level.
