Amir Ali Khan, Member of Legislative Council leads a rally in Adilabad against the new Wakf Act.
A bike and car rally was held in Adilabad on Monday, to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The rally also served as a platform to condemn the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, now an Act passed by the BJP-led Central government.
Amir Ali Khan, Member of Legislative Council, who led the rally said: “The Waqf (Amendment) Bill is a weapon aimed at marginalising Muslims and stripping them of their personal laws and property rights. This attack is targeted at Muslims today, but it sets a dangerous precedent to target other communities in the future.”
He emphasised that the Congress stood firmly opposed to this legislation, which he believes violates Article 25 of the Constitution, the Right to Freedom of Religion, and undermines the very idea of India. He urged Muslims and concerned citizens across the country to come out on the roads, organise protests, and build public pressure to force the Modi government to rollback the Act.
