AP Sending 1,630 Pilgrims For Haj This Year, Says Minister Farooq


VIJAYAWADA: Minority welfare minister N.M.D. Farooq announced that 1,630 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh will start performing their Haj this year from April 29. Of these, 1,170 will leave for Haj from the Hyderabad embarkation point.

Providing details, Farook said during the first phase, 236 pilgrims will leave Hyderabad for Medina from April 29 to May 11. In the second phase, 934 pilgrims will leave Hyderabad for Jeddah from May 19 to May 27.

In addition, 452 pilgrims will leave for Haj from the Bangalore embarkation point for Medina from April 30 to May 15.

The minister underlined that as per the orders of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, AP government has taken the necessary steps to provide accommodation facilities to the pilgrims leaving for Haj from Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Farook advised that pilgrims should get vaccinated as per the Haj regulations before leaving on their pilgrimage.
