A 43-year-old man working as a pump operator with Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited (TGTRANSCO) and Telangana Power Generation Corporation (TGGENCO) died after falling from a mango tree within the premises of the Electricity Souda office near Khairatabad.
The deceased, Uppula Kumar, a resident of Jagadamba Nagar in Asif Nagar, sustained serious injuries after falling from a mango tree on the morning of April 13. According to police, Kumar had climbed the tree in an attempt to pluck mangoes when he lost his footing and fell, losing consciousness upon impact.
Colleagues at the scene rushed to aid and immediately shifted him to a private hospital in Banjara Hills. Despite efforts, Kumar succumbed to his injuries on the night of April 14.
Following a complaint by his wife, Ambika, the Khairatabad police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. Kumar is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter. Police inquiries are ongoing.
