The ‘Brahmotsavams’ at Sri Ramalayam temple were held in a grand manner in Kurnool on Wednesday. Former Rajya Sabha member T.G. Venkatesh participated in the ‘Rathotsavam’ organised as part of the Brahmotsavams.
Mr. Venkatesh started the Rathotsavam by pulling the chariot and the procession was taken out in the streets of Kurnool town. Temple committee members and a large number of devotees took part in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkatesh lauded the temple committee for conducting the Brahmotsavams grandly at the temple, which completed 100 years. The temple was constructed in 1925. Mr. Venkatesh, meanwhile, informed that Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath has extended his cooperation for the development of the temple.
Mr. Venkatesh added that he had developed the Sri Rama temple in his grandfather’s village of Tumbalam. “The temple in Tumbalam is said to have been constructed nearly 5,000 years back by the Pandavas. I had the honour of developing it,” he said, and asked the locals to also visit the temple in Tumbalam.
