Miscreants rob 241 gm of gold ornaments from car atop Vijayawada’s Indrakeeladri

Unidentified persons committed theft in a car parked on the ghat road atop Indrakeeladri. Gold ornaments weighing about 241 gram were stolen from the car.

According to One Town police, the complainant Achanta Durga, who settled in Hyderabad, was travelling to Amalapuram, to attend a marriage reception on Tuesday (April 15, 2025). The family stopped the car near Om turning atop Indrakeeladri, and went into the temple to have ‘darshan’ of the deity. On return, the devotees found that the gold jewellery kept in the car was stolen.

Following a complaint, the One Town police registered a case and took up investigation, said West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), N. Durga Rao. “We are verifying the CCTVs on the ghat road. Efforts are on to trace the thieves,” Mr. Durga Rao told The Hindu on Wednesday (April 16, 2025.)
