Vijayawada: To boost manufacturing output and provide employment opportunities for the youth in NTR district, the government plans to establish dedicated MSME parks in all seven assembly constituencies. These parks, catering to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), will enhance the district’s industrial infrastructure.
NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha stated, “MSME parks will span 50 to 100 acres in rural and semi-urban constituencies. In urban areas, they will feature elevated structures due to limited land availability.” The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) will oversee infrastructure development.
Currently, NTR district hosts 12,098 MSME units with an investment of ₹1,304.25 crore, generating 58,224 jobs. Micro units make up 11,582 of these and contribute 52,902 jobs.
Key industries include pharmaceuticals, rice and dal mills, paints, and utensils. Under the mega units category, three units with ₹5,815 crore investment employ 4,925 people. Seventeen large units contribute ₹1,989 crore investment and provide 6,923 jobs. Two new units worth ₹533 crore are under development, expected to create 675 jobs.
