The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm alert to 11 districts in Telangana For Thursday (April 17, 2025). According to the IMD’s Daily Weather Bulletin, Thunderstorms Accompanied by Lightning And Gusty Winds Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, and Nagarkurnool districts.

Rain forecast to Hyderabad

In Hyderabad, residents can expect partly cloudy skies over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, are likely during the afternoon or evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are expected to hover around 38°C and 23°C, respectively, IMD said.

Despite the alert, temperatures continued to surge across the State. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed that on Tuesday (April 15, 2025), Adilabad and Nirmal recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43.5°C. They were followed closely by Nizamabad at 43.4°C, Kamareddy at 43.3°C, Karimnagar at 43.2°C, and Jagtial at 43°C.

Twelve other districts reported temperatures between 41°C and 43°C, while the remaining 15 districts saw the mercury ranging between 39°C and 41°C. Within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, Medchal Malkajgiri recorded maximum temperature of 39.8°C, followed by 39.7°C in Hyderabad.
