11 Injured in Stray Dog Attack

Warangal: Eleven villagers, including four women, were injured on Thursday morning when two stray dogs attacked residents of Upparapalli in Kesamudram mandal.

Witnesses said the animals first bit three men and three women, then ran to another lane and mauled five more people. Four victims with serious bite wounds were admitted to Mahbubabad Government Area Hospital; the others received outpatient care.

Fearing further attacks, residents held a protest outside the panchayat office, demanding an immediate dog-catching drive and long-term measures to control the stray population. They accused local authorities of ignoring repeated complaints about the growing menace.

Officials said a veterinary team has been dispatched to capture the dogs and conduct anti-rabies vaccinations in the area.
