A man has been arrested for making abusive and indecent posts on social media targeting Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and his son, informed Guntur District Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar during a press briefing on Wednesday.
According to the SP, the case was registered at Prathipadu Police Station under various sections of the BNS and IT Act based on a complaint filed on April 9. The accused, Puttapasam Raghu alias Pushparaj, a 21-year-old mobile technician from Kurnool district, allegedly used multiple fake accounts to post derogatory content due to his personal resentment towards Mr. Pawan and his family.
The SP revealed that Raghu was a supporter of actor Allu Arjun and during online banter with Mr. Pawan’s fans he grew hostile following the 2024 elections. Taking advantage of the fire incident involving Pawan Kalyan’s son, Raghu posted an obscene caption along with a photo of the father-son duo.
Mr. Satish Kumar emphasised that social media users must act responsibly and refrain from violating others’ personal dignity. Legal action will be taken against anyone misusing digital platforms for defamatory or offensive purposes, he warned.
