Nizamabad: In a proactive initiative to empower young girls, the Nizamabad Police will conduct a free self-defence training camp for girls aged between 14 and 18 years during the summer vacation. The week-long camp will begin on April 25 at the RBVRR School premises in Nizamabad.

The training will be held from 8 am to 12 pm, with breakfast provided to all participants. The programme will include sessions on self-defence techniques, motivational talks, and guidance on preventing crimes against women.

Commissioner of Police P. Sai Chaitanya, who launched the initiative, said the camp aims to boost confidence among girls and equip them to face challenging situations. Police officials and motivational speakers will address the participants during the sessions.

Interested candidates can register their details with the Nizamabad Police Commissionerate. For more information, they may contact 90009 94312. A few sponsors have also extended support to the initiative.

“We are expecting a good response. Such training will help girls build confidence and tackle adverse situations effectively,” the commissioner told Deccan Chronicle.
