Hyderabad: Telangana unit of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided to organize demonstrations across all the district headquarters in the State on Saturday and submit representations to the Collectors to protest against the violence on Hindus in West Bengal.
In a statement issued here on Friday, VHP State president Bhojanpalli Narasimha Murthy and national spokesperson Ravinutala Shashidhar urged the people to participate in the protest programme in large numbers. They said a representation would be submitted to the district Collector after the protest requesting him to forward it to the President of India requesting to impose President’s rule in West Bengal where the ruling party was indulging in vote bank politics and resorting to violence.
The brutal violence in certain villages in West Bengal following the violence over the Waqf (Amendment) Bill was highly objectionable, they said, demanding that the Central government initiate stern action against those who were responsible for the violence targeting innocent Hindus.
The trouble mongers were creating unnecessary problems on the Bangladesh border in the name of violence, they said. Requesting the Centre to deal sternly with the trouble mongers, the VHP leaders demanded the government immediately impose President’s rule in West Bengal and ensure protection for Hindus.
