Prabhakar was the bank account supplier and creator of merchant IDs for gaming websites

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police on Saturday arrested a man identified as M Prabhakar (30) from Chandanagar in an online gaming fraud case which was reported recently in the city. He is involved in several cases across India.
Officials said Prabhakar was the bank account supplier and creator of merchant IDs for gaming websites. He created merchant IDs and opened more than 80 current bank accounts in different banks using 11 shell companies and supplied to a fraudulent gaming website.
Recently, a 30-year-old man from the city was duped to the tune of Rs 20 lakh by the fraudsters who promised he could earn huge money by playing or investing in online gaming app.
Initially, he received good returns on his investments. However, later on, his IDs were blocked, and he was not allowed to withdraw the funds from the betting application.
Case is under investigation.
