Illegal Explosives Seized in Station Ghanpur, Two Held

Warangal: In a pre dawn operation on Saturday, Task Force Police raided a house in Namaligonda village and seized a big cache of unlicensed explosives.

Acting on a tip-off, officers led by Task Force ACP A. Madhusudhan and inspector K. Sridhar stormed the home of Bosu Buchamma (55), wife of Venkataiah. During the search, they also detained Orsu Ramesh (27), an autorickshaw driver from Peddapendial, who arrived at the scene under suspicious circumstances. A further inspection of Ramesh’s vehicle uncovered additional explosive materials.

In total, police recovered 10 gelatin sticks, 50 detonators, 55 kg of ammonium nitrate, 2 fuse bundles, an autorickshaw and a mobile phone. Authorities believe the explosives were stored without permits and may have been destined for illegal blasting or quarrying operations. Further investigations are underway to determine the intended use and to identify any additional suspects.
