New Jersey Devils Star Entering Playoffs Red-Hot

While Timo Meier’s numbers were a bit lower than expected for his standards this campaign, he was still one of the New Jersey Devils’ top offensive contributors. In 80 regular-season games, the 6-foot-1 winger finished third on the Devils with 26 goals and fourth on the team with 53 points.

With these totals, Meier was still an important part of the Devils’ offense during this regular season, and the hope from here is that this will continue to be the case for the playoffs. When looking at the way he finished the regular season, there is reason to be optimistic on that front.

Meier had a nice finish to the 2024-25 regular-season, as he scored four goals and recorded six points in his final five games for the Devils. This included scoring a goal and posting two assists in his last appearance against the Boston Bruins on April 15.

When playing at his best, Meier can be a major difference-maker offensively. For example, during the 2021-22 season with the San Jose Sharks, the 2015 ninth-overall pick recorded 35 goals and 76 points in 77 contests. He also had 66 points in 78 games during the 2022-23 campaign, so he has the ability to hit another level. The Devils will be hoping he can do just that during the playoffs.

With the Carolina Hurricanes being a deep team, the Devils need all of their top players, like Meier, to be on their A-games. It will be interesting to see if the 28-year-old forward can translate his ongoing hot streak to the playoffs from here.
