Hyderabad: A youth was stabbed to death by a group of persons at Chaitanyapuri in the early hours of Sunday. A previous enmity is suspected to have led to the murder.
The victim identified as V Manoj (24), a resident of Nagole, had gone to have breakfast with his friend Vamshi at a tiffin center when the suspects identified as Sanjay, Mahesh and three others, picked up an argument with him.
According to the police, Sanjay stabbed Manoj with a knife discriminately on his chest, abdomen and other parts of the body resulting in grievous injuries and instant death. Vamshi, who tried to rescue Manoj, was also attacked and he escaped with minor injuries.
Investigation revealed that in 2023, Manoj had attacked Sanjay resulting in injuries to him. A case was booked at the LB Nagar police station. The elders from both sides had earlier worked out a compromise between Manoj and Sanjay. Though they seemed to have pacified, Sanjay still bore a grudge against Manoj and eliminated him.
On Sunday night, the duo had an argument over the same and Pavan beat up Venkateshwarlu.
Based on a complaint from Manoj’s brother, the Chaitanyapuri police booked a case and took up investigation. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.
