Bengaluru: A Wing Commander attached to Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Bengaluru identified Shilajeetya Bose on Monday alleged an assault on him by a food delivery person, his identity was not immediately known, near a shopping mall in C.V. Raman Nagar of Bengaluru city at around 6.30 am.
However, eyewitness accounts say the Wing Commander retaliated to the food delivery person and was ‘unstoppable’ in his assault on the delivery person. Later in the evening, sources said, based on a complaint by the Wing Commander, police have taken into custody the delivery person who was involved in the fight on the road in C.V. Raman Nagar.
The altercation between the Wing Commander and the food delivery person is said to have occurred over a minor collision between the car driven by Wing Commander’s wife and the two-wheeler belonging to the food delivery person. The Wing Commander is a resident of DRDO, C.V. Raman Nagar, phase 1.
In a video posted by the person on a social networking account of about two-and half minutes, the Wing Commander alleged a two-wheeler intercepted his car driven by wife Squadron Leader Madhumitha and the person on the two-wheeler started to hurl abuses at his wife before turning to him. The Wing Commander alleged the person abused him in Kannada which he could not understand.
In the meantime, he alleged, the person pulled out his vehicle’s keys and hit in in the head leading to blood oozing out and later the person took a stone and hit him in the head. The Wing Commander claimed none of the passersby came to his rescue.
In the video the Wing Commander stated to file a complaint with the jurisdictional police and undergo treatment for his injuries at a hospital.
The Wing Commander stated he did not retaliate to the attack on him by the delivery person but an eyewitness stated he heard screams of a woman and came across an argument between a Wing Commander and a delivery boy. As per the eye witness accounts, the Wing Commander was in a ‘aggressive’ mood and repeatedly punched the delivery boy.
“The delivery boy was punched at least 30 times by the Wing Commander,” said the eye witness recalling the horrific incident. Continuing, the eye witness stated, people gathered around the place tried to calm the Wing Commander but he was “uncontorable’ and went on attacking the delivery person.
