Kasireddy Taken Into Custody By SIT At Hyderabad Airport

Vijayawada:AP state CID’s Special Investigation Team has taken into custody accused in the multi-crore liquor scam, Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, upon his arrival at the International airport in Hyderabad on Monday.

Reddy has been evasive to summons for the inquiry from the SIT here despite repeated notices by the CID. Its sleuths took him into custody as he landed at the airport from Goa.

He told the CID that he would attend the inquiry on Tuesday, but the team made the arrest and shifted him to Vijayawada for questioning.

Earlier, Reddy released an audio message stating that there were some legal issues, but he would attend the inquiry on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Kasireddy moved the high court seeking anticipatory bail. The court held a hearing here on Monday and directed the CID to submit more details of the case and deferred the case for its further hearing to next week.

A single judge bench of Justice Mallikharjuna Rao, who held a hearing in the case, issued directions accordingly.

Moreover, supreme court advocate Siddartha Dave, appearing in the case online, filed an interlocutory petition seeking interim anticipatory bail and sought hearing in the case. However, the court informed him that the case was already deferred to next week and advised him to file a plea on Tuesday for an emergency hearing.

In addition to this, the parents of Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy –Subhashini and Upendar Reddy — moved a lunch motion petition seeking court directions to the CID to hear them as witnesses in the case at their residence. They said this may be done in the presence of advocates after giving prior intimation.

The court directed the CID to do so and ordered that there should not be any coercive measures against them.
