APPSC may release notification for 866 vacant posts in various depts | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is expected to release as many as 18 pending notifications to fill a total of 866 vacant posts across various departments.
The release of these notifications had been delayed due to proposal for the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes (SCs).
With state govt approving the implementation of the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes, it was learnt that APPSC will issue the notifications after finalisation of the roster points, as per the recent SC sub-classification.
The finalisation of the roster points is said to be completed within 30 days if the exercise is initiated immediately, allowing the APPSC to issue notifications to fill the vacant posts.
Out of the 866 vacant posts that are to be filled through 18 notifications, the forest department accounts for 814 posts, including forest beat officer, assistant beat officer, and forest section officer.
The remaining vacant posts are in the agriculture, endowments, horticulture, fisheries, and other departments.
It should be noted that state govt has already issued a DSC notification to fill 16,347 vacant posts in the school education department.
