Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Muppavarapu Veeraiah Chowdhary (50) was murdered on Monday in a shocking incident that occurred at his office in Padma Towers, Ongole.
According to the preliminary investigation, three unidentified assailants wearing masks stormed into the office and launched a violent knife attack on Chowdhary. The assailants swiftly fled the scene after the assault. Alerted by the commotion, locals rushed the injured leader to a nearby hospital. However, doctors confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries by the time he arrived.
SP AR Damodar reached the spot shortly after the incident and cordoned off the area for investigation.
