Youth Murdered by Constable Over Suspension Grudge

Warangal: The Hanamkonda police have cracked the murder mystery of a missing youth and arrested six individuals, including constable Bashaboina Srinivas, in connection with the crime. Authorities also recovered a car, two autos, two bikes, five mobile phones and an air pistol used in the murder from the accused’s possession on Tuesday.

Warangal police commissioner Sunpreet Singh revealed that the victim, identified as 30-year-old Chidam Sai Prakash, had previously lodged complaints about constable Srinivas’s illicit relationship with his relative, Nirmala, with higher officials. This had led to Srinivas’s suspension. The constable resumed duty later and allegedly sought revenge.

On April 15, Nirmala, her husband and Sai Prakash were on a medical trip to Hanamkonda. Upon learning their whereabouts, Srinivas, along with five accomplices, followed their car. At around 11.30 pm near Baby Sainik School, Gopalpur Crossroad, they intercepted the car, forced Sai Prakash out of the car and strangled him with a shawl near Hasanparthy.

The murderers disposed of the body in a well near Jilled Gadda Thanda, Husnabad, and abandoned the vehicle near Asian Mall in Hanamkonda. Villagers later discovered the body, prompting police to initially file a suspicious death case.

The arrested individuals include constable Srinivas (Mulugu district), Devili Sai (Guntur), Arun Kumar alias Pandu, Sabavath Akhil Naik, Raju (all from Hanamkonda), and Nirmala (Mulugu district). The crime was solved through detailed interrogation and digital surveillance.
