Hyderabad: Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Hyderabad Police has heightened its vigil at public places in the city. Intelligence officials said though there has been no specific input for the city, whenever such terror attacks occur in any part of the country, the local police, as a precaution, is put on alert.
Apart from this, special police teams including the Task Force and Special Operations Team have increased their searches in all suspected crowded locations including various hotels and lodges and railway and bus stations.
Local police also conducted vehicle checks and frisking at different places. The police were taking no chances given the general alert issued by central security agencies.
“We are already on alert given the recent festivals. However, with the terror attack in Pahalgam, all the city units are on alert,” said a senior official from the Intelligence Department adding that there was no specific input for the city.
Meanwhile, the central forces also stepped up security at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. All passengers, baggage, and visitors were being checked thoroughly.
