The Jubilee Hills police arrested a habitual house trespasser involved in multiple daytime burglaries and recovered gold ornaments weighing around 40 grams along with cash and silver articles.
The accused, identified as Kollipakala Manikanta alias Mani alias Nani, 21, was arrested following a series of theft cases registered across various police stations in the city.
Manikanta, a native of East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, was residing in Somajiguda and working in catering sector. He was booked seven times by Borabanda, Kukatpally, Allapur, and Secretariat police for similar offences between 2023 and 2024.
In connection with the current set of offences, Manikanta confessed to his involvement in four cases in Miyapur and Jubilee Hills. Upon his arrest, police recovered a 4.49 gram gold chain, 2.5 gram gold ring, a 5 gram pair of earrings, traditional gold ‘pusthelu’, and cash amounting to ₹2,500, all linked to ongoing investigations.
Additionally, police also arrested Lingala Anil Kumar, who received the stolen jewellery. Kumar, a businessman from Chaitanyapuri, was found in possession of two gold bangles weighing 14.860 grams, a pair of earrings weighing 8.245 grams, and a gold ring of 2.8 grams, all traced back to one of the Jubilee Hills cases.
