Hyderabad: Noted academician Dr M Sangeetha, who served as Head of the English Department for several colleges and is a known literary figure in English language for the past 25 years, has been conferred with ‘William Shakespeare Excellency Award 2025’ in Hyderabad.
The award, which came with a shawl, memento and a citation, was presented to Dr Sangeetha by Professor A Karunakar, former Head of the English Department at Osmania University in an event organised by Vikas Bharathi Charitable Trust on the occasion of World English Day and William Shakespeare’s birth anniversary at St. Joseph’s Degree and PG College Auditorium, King Koti on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Karunakar stated that William Shakespeare’s works are still read and analysed worldwide.
K. Ram Gopal Reddy, Managing Trustee, Vikas Bharathi Charitable Trust, Dr. Raj Narayana Mudiraj, State president of the Telangana Intellectuals Forum, College, Principal Reverend Father Anthony Sagaya Raja, G. Naveen Kumar, Dr. Anaga Join, Parla Das, Dr. Sindhu Worku, Father Mareti, and others were present.
