Vijayawada: Krishna district in-charge minister and state minister for labour, factories, boilers, and medical insurance services, Vasamsetty Subhash, emphasised that every citizen and official has a role to play in making Krishna district a leader in development.
He made these remarks during a comprehensive district review meeting (DRC) held at the Zilla Parishad hall on Thursday, which focused on the progress of various departments, including agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, irrigation, and rural employment schemes.
Minister Subhash praised Krishna district’s academic achievements, highlighting its top performance in the recent Intermediate results and improved SSC outcomes. He directed rural irrigation officials to address drinking water shortages in villages and towns during the summer. He also stressed the need for increased awareness about crop insurance, noting its critical role during adverse weather conditions. Issues like improper silt disposal from ponds were discussed, with instructions to consult pond owner associations for long-term solutions.
State mines and excise minister Kollu Ravindra lauded chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership in raising the state’s GSDP to 12%, aiming for 15% growth soon. He announced that financial aid for fishermen during the fishing ban would be distributed on April 26 and urged timely completion of the fishing harbour and Machilipatnam Port. Government Whip Yarlagadda Venkatarao called for beautification along key roads and embankment strengthening for flood prevention.
