Pahalgam attack: Warangal youngster booked for derogatory comments on social media

Warangal: The Mattewada police booked a youngster on charges of posting derogatory messages on his social media account in the backdrop of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

It was said that BJYM Warangal district president E Bharatveer on Thursday posted a message on his Facebook page condemning the terror attack. Responding to his message as well as to the incident, the accused, Mohammed Imran of LB Nagar in Warangal, posted a message on his Facebook page, which was allegedly derogative and abusive in nature.

Bharatveer’s Facebook friend, A Srikanth, demanded the accused to delete the messages and a debate, a rather ugly one, ensued among them on Facebook. Responding to the incident, BJYM district secretary Bhasetty Sai Tarun, a common friend of the above, lodged a complaint with the Mattewada police requesting action against Imran alleging that his statement hurt their sentiments and disturbed religious harmony.
