Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Friday booked a case of Disproportionate Assets (DA) to known sources of income against Mohammed Ghouse Pasha, a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), who is holding Full Additional Charge (FAC) at the District Transport Officer in Mahabubabad, for acquiring assets worth Rs.3.51 crore allegedly by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service.
As the offence was punishable under Section 13 (1) (b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988, searches were conducted on April 25, 2025 at his house and other four various places belonging to him and his family members.
During the searches, property documents related to houses, open plots and agricultural lands were found. Two house documents worth Rs.26.85 lakh, 25 open plot documents costing Rs.2.28 crore, documents related to agriculture lands measuring acres 10 and 36 guntas worth Rs.55.98 lakh found in the names of Pasha and his family members.
A press release issued by the ACB said that the market value was expected to be much higher than the official value. Furthermore, household articles worth Rs.7.03 lakh, a car and two bikes worth Rs.32.90 lakh were found.
The total assets were estimated to be about Rs.3.51 crore, the ACB officials said, adding that further verification of additional assets was underway. The case is under investigation.
