Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said the State government launched many infra development projects to make Hyderabad a global city.
Developing a world-class Future City on 30,000 acres, constructing a 370-km-long Regional Ring Road (RRR), Musi rejuvenation project and metro rail expansion were some initiatives taken up by the State government, he said, adding that the State government’s policy was to generate more revenue and distribute the wealth to poor.
The government was transparent and proactive in introducing reforms. The gig and App workers welfare policy will be introduced soon, he said.
Speaking at Bharat Summit here, he said the Praja Vani program has been launched to address people’s grievances. “We are proud that Telangana became the first State to conduct a caste survey and also SC categorization in India. We are also delighted to say that Telangana is also the first government to recruit a third gender community in the traffic police department,” he explained.
According to Revanth Reddy, the People’s government started a lot of welfare and development programs and there is still a lot to be done. He invited all delegates to join the mission to bring a change in the lives of people.
He appealed to all the delegates to share their experiences, knowledge and skills with the State government and become the “Telangana Rising” brand ambassadors and urged all delegates to show the greatness of Telangana to the world.
Explaining in detail the contribution of people in achieving a separate State for Telangana, he said, “Unfortunately, the aspirations of the people have not been fulfilled for the last 10 years in Telangana. People gave a mandate to the Congress and the People’s government is striving to fulfill the aspirations of all sections of the society including students, youth, farmers, women and the oppressed castes in particular.”
The State government introduced the biggest welfare schemes in the history of India. The government waived off Rs 20,617 crore farm loans of 25.50 lakh farmers on August 15, 2024. Telangana farmers were freed from the mounting debt burden on Independence Day apart from providing 24-hour free electricity to farmers in the State.
He said Rs.12,000 input subsidy was being given per acre under Rythu Bharosa every year. Landless farm labourers were getting Rs.12,000 per year. The government was providing Rs.20,000 crore financial assistance to landless and land-owning farmers in the agriculture sector every year.
Apart from Minimum Support Price (MSP), the government is also providing Rs.500 bonus per quintal to farmers who cultivated fine paddy varieties. Rythu Bhima and crop insurance benefits are also being given to farmers.
The government started Young India Skills University to develop skills among the unemployed youth and also filled 60,000 government posts in the first year of the People’s government and launched Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Yojana to provide financial assistance to five lakh youth.
