Revanth Reddy, Owaisi lead candlelight march in Hyderabad, Telangana CM calls for reclaiming PoK – India News

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi joined a candlelight march in Hyderabad on Friday to honour the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The event was organised to show a collective stand against terrorism. The march was attended by a large gathering reflecting national solidarity with the victims and their families.

Chief Minister Reddy, while addressing the crowd, issued a strong statement, urging India to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). ”We urge you to move forward, and the 140 crore people of India will stand by you. Divide Pakistan into two and merge PoK with India. We are all with you. This is not the time for politics,” Reddy stated, receiving cheers from the participants, as quoted by ANI.

He asserted that the entire country has been deeply affected by the Pahalgam tragedy and has called for decisive action. ”When our fellow citizens are attacked by the terrorists, it becomes a matter of national anguish. Now is the time to respond firmly,” he stated.

Highlighting Telangana’s support, Reddy added that the state’s four crore residents, along with representatives from over 100 countries are united in the fight against terrorism. ”We stand with our Prime Minister in this battle against terror”, he said, as per an ANI report.

Drawing inspiration from history, Reddy referred to Indira Gandhi’s strong military action during the 1967 China conflict and the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. ”In 1967, Indira Ji stood firm against China; in 1971, she divided Pakistan to create Bangladesh. Now is the time to strike back firmly against Pakistan’s actions, ”Reddy added.

The candlelight march comes in the wake of Kashmir’s deadliest attack since the 2019 Pulwama attack, with 25 nationals and one Nepali tourist losing their lives in the Pahalgam assault.
