Former visiting fellow at Harvard Law School and economist Dr Shariq Nisar delivers keynote at the one-day programme
Hyderabad: Economist Dr Shariq Nisar, former visiting fellow at Harvard Law School, delivered the keynote at a one-day programme ‘Financial Literacy Workshop 2025’ organised by SIO Telangana.
Dr Mohammed Javed from MANUU led the first session, offering participants an understanding of key economic concepts such as GDP, inflation, taxation, and global trade. In the second session, Certified Financial Planner Syed Younus Kabir provided practical guidance on goal-based financial planning, managing personal finances, and avoiding Ponzi schemes and credit traps.
A panel discussion featured entrepreneurs Meraj Faheem and Syed Azharuddin, who shared insights into building halal businesses and accessing government startup support.
Dr Shariq Nisar gave a session on Shariah-compliant investments, including ethical investing principles and available platforms.
