The spirits are high among the Indiana Fever as they have opened their training camp for the upcoming season in May.
The Fever were quite active in the offseason, bringing in free agents Sophie Cunningham, Natasha Howard, DeWanna Bonner, Sydney Colson and Brianna Turner to shore up the roster led by the trio of Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.
The team will get busy in training camp, with returning coach Stephanie White taking over from Christie Sides. The Fever are looking to build on their impressive run last season, where they advanced to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

For Mitchell, it’s imperative to stick to their character as a unit.
“I think the one thing that people should know about the Fever is we’re young, we’re vibrant, we have the personality in which we want to win,” said the two-time All-Star in a video posted by the team on Instagram.
“We know that we’ve come a long way regarding our culture, and I think for us, we want to be that team that people know about that has no filters, no anything.”
Boston, meanwhile, kept it simple. While she had fewer words, her statement said a lot about their mindset entering the new campaign.

Last season, Boston averaged 14.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 blocks. While there were concerns early on about how she and Mitchell would mesh with Clark, they quickly allayed them.
Clark and Mitchell, who averaged career-highs of 19.2 points and 48.6% field goals, formed a prolific backcourt, while Boston held down the fort in the paint.
“We are who we are,” added Mitchell. “At the end of the day, we’re going to stick by each other.”
The Fever will start their preseason campaign against the Washington Mystics on May 3.
