Citroen has highlighted the heavily cushioned seats in the new C5 Aircross.
Citroen has unveiled the all-new C5 Aircross SUV. The new model will be offered with fully electric, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrain options.
The new C5 Aircross features the French carmakerâs new design language. The production model retains cues from the funky styling of the concept. It gets protruding LED headlamps. However, unlike the concept, it gets conventional door handles and thicker pillars. On the side, it gets black cladding for the squared wheel arches and even thicker cladding for the doors. The SUV rides on 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear features new design split tail lamps with a chiseled tailgate. There is âAIRCROSSâ lettering in the centre and a black roof spoiler as well. The new C5 Aircross measures 4,652 mm in length and has a 2,784 mm wheelbase. Length has increased by 150 mm while wheelbase gone up by 60 mm compared to its predecessor.
The interior features Citroenâs new âC-Zen Loungeâ cabin design. The floating centre console features a large âCascadeâ style infotainment screen. Citroen hasnât specified the size yet, but there is a set of physical buttons. Citroen says it is âthe largest central high-definition touchscreen ever offered by a Stellantis brandâ, and is fully customizable, while some sections are fixed.
Other features include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, large heads-up display, wireless smartphone charging pad, cup holders and storage area behind the touchscreen as well.
Citroen has highlighted the heavily cushioned seats in the new C5 Aircross. The seats are combined with a Citroen-specific suspension setup, offering excellent comfort. The boot is also larger at 651 litres, and there is a 75-litre compartment below the boot floor.
The new C5 Aircross is based on Stellantisâ STLA Medium architecture, the same platform underpinning the Peugeot 3008/5008, Opel Grandland, and DS No8. It will likely support the upcoming DS No7 as well.
The all-electric variant will come with two battery pack options; 73 or 97 kWh. The former will put out 207 BHP with a WLTP range of 520 km, while the latter will develop 227 BHP & will give a range of 680 km.
On a 7.4 kW box charger, the electric C5 will go from 20 to 80 percent charge in 6 hours 45 minutes or 8 hours 55 minutes, depending on the battery. The same charge can be achieved in 30 minutes via a 160 kW DC fast charger.
The 48V mild-hybrid version comes with 143 BHP, while the plug-in hybrid model develops 192 BHP. It features an EV-only range of 100 km.
The new Citroen C5 Aircross will be launched in Europe in the second half of 2025.
