An Indian student in Canada’s Ottawa, who had been missing since April 25, was found dead under mysterious circumstances.

The student was identified as 21-year-old Vanshika Saini, who, according to The Times Of India, was the daughter of Aam Aadmi Party leader Davinder Saini.

According to the details, Vanshika had left her house nearly 9 pm on April 25 to look for a room on rent.

She did not return thereafter.

Her phone had been switched off, following which she also did not appear for an exam.

As the officers investigated, it was known that Vanshika, who used to be regularly in touch with her family and friends, had been untraceable.

The TOI report claimed Vanshika’s body was found near a beach. A hunt for her began when her friends went to check on her after she did not turn up for the exam. As they found that she had been missing, they informed the local authorities, the report claimed.

Quoting sources, the report stated that Vanshika had moved to Canada after she completed her schooling

Meanwhile, the High Commission of India in Ottawa said the matter was under investigation with the local police and that they were in contact with the family of the student.
